The 118th NY Vol. Inf. Co. F, Historical Re-enacting Organization has a vested interest and commitment to education. The key to knowing our nation’s history & ultimately its future, rests in this simple word, “Education”. To understand history, is to better understand ourselves, to understand ourselves makes us better people.

Therefore this organization is offering an educational opportunity to the community, in respect to the American Civil War (1861- 1865). If you are an organization, club, civic-minded group, school or Home school, this could be a valuable educational tool. In a presentation, history comes alive & breaks the confines of a book, which is limited to a just a few pages. We not only present history in a fun atmosphere but we interact and encourage questions on the Civil War. We also bring displays and props to better your presentation. When we do a presentation our period weapons are part of our presentation. These weapons are real but will have no ability to fire or discharge in any way. If you are a school, we will need written permission to enter the school. All weapons will be covered & secured upon entry into the school & will only be used during the presentation for educational purposes.

Our unit will come to you & provide a Historical Presentation either on the Civil War as a whole or on the 118th NY itself. The most common presentation is a Civil War Overview & our unit has the capability & versatility to do Civilian, Union & Confederate impressions, to broaden your presentation experience. The 118th NY presentation deals exclusively with the “Adirondack Regiment” & is a power-point presentation. Upon request, we can modify our presentation to include topics which your school or organization are interested in. Our presentations extend for a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of 6 hours. The 118th NY power-point presentation is a 2 hour presentation. We do ask for a donation fee which depends on the length of your presentation. The donation helps us to further educate and offer opportunities to others. If your organization is unable to provide a donation we will still offer the presentation to you. Our organization is Not- for- profit and all donations go back into preserving history, providing educational events and presentations for the community. We ask that you give us a 30 day advance notice to schedule a presentation, so that we are better able to prepare & coordinate our resources to provide you with a proper presentation. Our unit is based in Northern NY (Adirondack Region).
